Chemin De Fer

People who are wondering how to play Baccarat may have heard about Chemin De Fer. Chemin De Fer is a favorite variant rule of a certain international spy character. People who think Chemin De Fer is very different from Baccarat might be surprised at how both rules are very similar. Players who know the rules and some Baccarat strategy are able to play Chemin De Fer easily.

Rules of Baccarat

Chemin De Fer shares the same rules as Baccarat. To play Baccarat is just like a mixture of blackjack and roulette. Just like blackjack, there are two sides which are competing for the best score of a round. The two competing sides are the ‘player’ and ‘banker’. Both the ‘player’ and ‘banker’ play with two cards at the start of each round. Their score comes from the second digit of the total value of their hand. For example, if a player has a 3 and a 9, their score is going to be a 2 since their hand’s value is 12.

Dealers also follow a certain rule when it comes to drawing another card for any of the two sides. The third card only occurs if any of the side’s score is lower than a natural 8 or 9. There are some rules which any player can follow. This includes drawing a third card for the ‘player’ side if its score is 5 or lower. The banker’s side can be complicated to follow. Thankfully, it is the dealer who needs to memorize the rules.

In normal Baccarat, only the dealer plays both sides. Players on the other hand simply bet on the side which they think is going to win a round. There is also a ‘tie’ side bet. Players win this bet if both sides have the same score. Since the odds of a tie are very low, the payout for this side bet is 8 to 1.

Chemin De Fer rules

The most notable difference in Chemin De Fer is the person who plays the ‘player’ and ‘banker’. This time, it is the players on the table who will play the two competing sides. The dealer or the person who manages the table is the one who will choose which player is going to play the banker. The person with the highest wager will play the ‘player’ side. Players still follow the same rules in Bitcoin baccarat when it comes to drawing the third card. All players’ bets are always on the ‘player’ side.

Baccarat and Chemin De Fer are still the same games with a slight difference in how they are played.
